Still Works Classes
A Shopify app by App Still Works
In development. Not yet in the Shopify App Store.
The sourdough class is the first Tuesday of the month, twelve seats, bring an apron. The pottery studio has six wheels and a waiting list. The yoga studio's Saturday morning class fills by Thursday. The florist's wreath workshop sells out every year, and the Wednesday seminar has forty chairs. If you teach, a class is a product with a date attached, and Still Works Classes is the part of your store that understands the date.

What it does
You set up a class once: the product that sells the seat, how many seats, how long it runs, when seats stop selling, and what people should bring. Then you put dates on it, every Tuesday for eight weeks or the first Saturday of the month or just the three dates you have in mind. The product page on your store shows those dates with seats left. Someone picks one, buys it through your normal cart, and gets a note with the address and what to bring. The morning of the class, you print the roster.
- Built for
- Anyone who teaches in a room with a door: bakeries and cooking schools, pottery, painting, and craft studios, florists, yoga and fitness studios that sell a seat in a class, breweries and roasters with a tasting night, and anyone who runs a workshop or seminar with a date and a seat count.
- On the product page
- A list of dates with seats left. Full dates and dates past the cutoff cannot be picked. A full date offers "Tell me if a seat opens."
- Checkout
- Your store's own cart and checkout. The seat is an ordinary order, paid in full, with the date on the line. No second checkout, no deposits.
- The roster
- One page per day: each class, who is coming, how many seats, and whatever they typed at checkout, such as an allergy or a companion's name. Check people in at the door, mark no-shows. It prints.
- Emails
- A "you're in" note with the address and what to bring, a reminder the day before, a note if a class moves or is cancelled, and "a seat opened" for anyone on the waiting list. Shopify still sends the order confirmation and receipt.
- Students
- See their classes, add one to their calendar, and cancel inside the window you set, from their own account on your store. When they cancel, you get an email naming the order to refund. Refunds are always yours to make.
- Calendar
- Every date at a glance. Close a day and its classes are cancelled with one email to each student. Holidays close in one click.
- Pricing
- Flat monthly plans, listed in the App Store. No per-seat fee and no cap on what you sell, on any plan.
What it is not
It is not an appointment book. There are no staff calendars, no one-on-one time slots, no deposits, no video links. And it is not a membership system yet: no class packs, no unlimited monthly plans, no recurring dues. Every seat is bought for a date. It sells seats in a class on a day, in person, for a business that sells through Shopify. If you need a salon's diary or a gym's membership desk, you need a different kind of app.
Made to sit beside Standing Orders
Still Works Classes is the second app from the same studio as Still Works Standing Orders, and it is built for the same counter. A bakery that sells a loaf every Saturday and teaches a class on Tuesday night installs both, and the locations and closed days it typed into one can be copied into the other in a minute.
Hear about it on launch day. Email jon@appstillworks.com with your shop's name and what you teach, and you will get one note when Still Works Classes is ready. Nothing else. No list to unsubscribe from.
About the studio
App Still Works is one person, Jon Barney, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The person who answers your support email is the person who wrote the app, the same business day, Mountain Time. Every app is built to be small, to do one job well, and to leave your data where your store already keeps it. The privacy policy and terms are short and written to be read.
